Stockings are the unsung hero of Christmas morning.
Growing up, my mom—erm, Santa—always, and I mean always, took the "stuffed" in "stocking stuffers" quite literally.
While my brother and sister scoped and shook the big boxes, trying to get a head start (without ripping the paper of), I bee-lined straight to my stocking.
There were things I didn't know I needed and things I didn't think I wanted, all packed into one magical oversized Christmas sock. (That's how I viewed it, and still do.)
As I type these words, I'm realizing just how powerful nostalgia really is.
(If you get this reference, you get +15 cool points. You probably also have kids.)
This holiday season, I want to share that same feeling with you.
Below are your Reeder stocking stuffers: my favorite and most popular books, podcasts, templates, and more – all meant to help propel you toward healthy and happy growth, both personally and professionally. (Because the idea of them being separate is silly, isn't it?) Let's see how fast those fingers can unwrap...
HearSay Podcast: Where Marketing Meets Accessibility
96% of websites are inaccessible to people with disabilities. That's not acceptable.
So I partnered with AudioEye to understand, amplify, and make progress on the accessibility issues plaguing SaaS.
If you're also interested in inclusive marketing, you'll enjoy my recent podcast with Manuel Rietzsch (VP of Revenue Marketing, AudioEye).
If you've been following along, you know this podcast is my labor of love. In Season 1, we dove deep into real conversations with marketing leaders about their struggles, triumphs, and the lessons they learned along the way. From CMOs to solo-preneurs, each episode is packed with actionable insights you can apply to your own journey. Perfect for your holiday commute or that much-needed break from family festivities. You can watch (encouraged) or listen on YouTube, Spotify, or Apple.
Book: Ogilvy on Advertising
This has been my favorite read this year.
While it was written decades ago, Ogilvy's principles on human psychology and effective communication are timeless.
What I love most is how he combines practical advice with profound insights about building trust with your audience.
Whether you're crafting emails, social posts, or entire campaigns, this book will transform how you think about connecting with people through your work.
Ever wonder why certain things catch on while others fall flat?
Jonah Berger's "Contagious" breaks down the science of social transmission in a way that's both fascinating and immediately applicable.
I've used his STEPPS framework (Social currency, Triggers, Emotion, Public, Practical value, Stories) in countless campaigns, and it hasn't failed me yet.
This is your guide if you want to understand what makes content truly shareable.
Tis the season... for marketers to close out the year while planning deliverables for Q1 😅
If that has you stressin', this should help. It's my template for quarterly planning. I've used this exact framework to plan content for companies ranging from startups to enterprises, and it's designed to align your content with both business goals and audience needs.
The best part? It helps you stay flexible while maintaining consistency.
I hope these stocking stuffers bring as much joy and growth to your journey as my childhood stockings brought to me.
Until next week, keep growing, keep learning, and maybe stuff a few stockings of your own.
Holler at you later, Devin
POV: Your CEO is a Toddler
I've committed to focusing more on the "entertainment" part of edutainment content. So I partnered with Heike Young to share the pains of getting your marketing budget approved by your CEO... who's also a toddler:
